30390: Systems Administrator

Red Hat's Engineering Operations team is seeking a mid-level Systems
Administrator to join their team in the Westford, MA office. Working in a
highly dynamic environment, the role's main focus will be on maintaining
the systems and services the Engineering Operations team provides. The
successful candidate will work with the development team to help develop,
deploy and support the applications that allow our Engineering Department
to produce world class Open Source software.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux
systems (RHCE preferred), a drive for success, and a passion for
technology. The successful candidate will have outstanding troubleshooting
skills and experience working with a wide variety of hardware and software
platforms. They should be passionate about open source, and ideally have
experience with open source technologies and methodologies.

Required Skills and Experience:
* 3-5 years of Unix/Linux system admin experience; strongly prefer
candidates that have earned RHCE certification.
* Linux operating system installation, configuration, upgrades, and
maintenance experience.
* Networking technology and networking infrastructure services and
protocols (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos, NIS, PXE).
* Scripting skills in administrative languages (shell, Python, Perl).
* Experience managing applications and systems written in Perl, Python,
Ruby, and PHP.
* Experience with configuration management tools such as cfengine and
puppet.
* Fluent in Business Level & Technical English.
* Ability to read and interpret English language technical documents
* Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision

Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience with managing Java applications and J2EE application servers.
* Knowledge of software development life cycles and methodologies.



Job 9472: Associate Lab Administrator

Red Hat's Engineering Operations team is seeking a novice-level Lab
Administrator (System Administrator) to assist with the principal
laboratories at the company's Engineering Headquarters in Westford, Mass.
Recen graduates or enthusiastic hobbyists with a passion for Linux and a
wide range of hardware would make ideal candidates. Self-motivated
technologists with a strong work ethic and the ability to learn and quickly
grasp technical concepts will thrive in our extremely fast-paced
environment where tight deadlines and changing priorities are the norm.

• Work under & take direction from senior system administrators
• Rack, stack & network hardware
• Integrate hardware into test infrastructure
• Troubleshooting system issues

• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Must be able to read and interpret English language technical documents
• Ability to speak clear, business-level English

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of/some experience with the following:
• Linux operating system installation, configuration, upgrades and
maintenance
• Networking technology at the physical (twisted pair, fiber optic) and
logical (Ethernet, TCP/IP) level including the various supporting services
and protocols (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Kerberos)
• Ability to write scripts in some administrative language
(shell/Python/Perl)
• Exposure to various types of industry hardware (x86, AMD64, EM64T, IA64,
S390/S390x, PowerPC)

Special Job Conditions:
Must be able to move and install computer systems and monitors, weighing
