This role is to be one of a two person Administration Group for a 2000
employee software company that is mostly a windows shop (they have 6
windows Administrators) on the UNIX side ( a small unix shop) they are
98% Solaris so the Unix Admin's will focus mostly on  Enterprise Wide
SAN Storage and Backup technology

 

Reporting to the Dir of IT Operation they are looking for someone heavy
with SUN hardware, as well as Sun, Hitachi & HP SAN technology, Fiber
channel, Brocade, Legato, Clustering 

 

There is virtually no on call in this role which is nice,  

 

Position ideally will pay 90,000 but they are open for a good senior
Admin.

Position Description
This position is responsible for the design, installation, and support
of all UNIX based services. This will include server, storage, SAN, and
tape environments at our corporate data center as well as our remote
sites. 

Responsibilities
* Build UNIX servers, install OS and support software 
* Support production environment 

* Analyze new technologies, hardware, and software solutions 
* Hands-on troubleshooting of all UNIX infrastructure 
* Provide enterprise wide storage management and recovery 
* Perform analysis, upgrades and configuration of Solaris, HP/UX, Linux
UNIX servers/ Hitachi, HP, Sun Storage/ STK, ADIC, Sony Tape/ Brocade
SAN

Education and skills
* 5 years of direct Unix infrastructure experience
* Sun hardware and Solaris Operating Systems
* SAN and NAS technologies
* networking, DNS, and related architecture
* Fiber Channel Switch Fabric implementation, integration and
administration.
* High Availability and server clustering
