Position location: Franklin, MA

Salary: Negotiable (Approximately 50-70k)

 



As a Data Center Analyst (Tier 2) in our Centralized Operations Department, you will provide Tier 2 support/technical proficiency with distributed systems and mainframe operating systems as well as application processing environments.  The shift for this position is a three day work week: Sun-Tues, 7:30am - 8:00pm.



 

Specific responsibilities: 




	- Follow defined processes and procedures for resolving problems and performing system maintenance.  Promptly escalate to Tier 3 resolver groups if directed or if no procedures reside in the support knowledge base.
 

	- Work directly with other infrastructure support staff and application development staff to address undocumented problems.
 

	- Initiate process improvement efforts and draft new documentation and facilitate training with other Analysts.
 

	- Process issues that are tracked through inbound phone calls or alerts received by systems management tools (Unicenter, Spectrum, Nethealth, etc), and record all issues in CA Service Desk. 
 

	- Resolve unstructured problems and prevent escalation to the Server Operations and/or Engineering teams whenever possible. 
 

	- Tier 2 Analyst should be comfortable authoring procedures and knowledge base articles for use by Tier I Analysts.









	- Demonstrated technical proficiency and solid customer service skills along with experience with Windows and/or UNIX Server operating systems. 

	- At least 3-5 years in supporting Windows Server and UNIX Operating Systems. 

	- Strong communication skills both written and verbal. 

	- Ability to multitask in a highly functioning 24X7 operations environment. 

	- Ability to effectively communicate with Senior Management. 

	- Consistent performance under time constraints determined by business and client needs. 

	- Driving efficiency into customer deployment processes via excellent documentation and automation of repeated tasks. 

	- System deployments under deadlines driven by program management. 

	- Service execution to strict SLAs. 

	- Ability to read, interpret, and implement moderately complex engineering specifications. 

	- Ability to communicate effectively throughout internal IT groups and external customers. 

	- Understanding of ITIL and Microsoft Operations Framework processes. 

	- Training development and delivery to Tier 1 and 2 support teams.
