Linux System Administrator 

Gather is a rapidly expanding startup located in Boston's financial
district.  Our product (www.gather.com), is an exciting web site where
informed, curious people exchange ideas & opinions. We're an enthusiastic
and experienced team, passionate about building the next generation of the
web. We currently have an opportunity for a Linux System Administrator to
join our team.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 
    - BSCS or equivalent experience
    - 3+ years Linux administration experience 
    - 3+ years Apache administration experience 
    - 1+ years Web application server administration experience (Tomcat
preferred) 
    - 2+ years SQL (MySQL preferred)
    - Knowledge of Windows XP, 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange, and Active
Directory
    - Proficient in shell scripting
    - Knowledge of component and network monitoring systems (Nagios
experience a plus)
    - Strong organization, communication, and documentation skills

Additional Desired Qualifications:
    - Knowledge of Symantec security products
    - Experience managing SVN or CVS source repositories
    - Experience with 3Com NBX phone systems

 

Compensation:  Commensurate with experience
