Target’s modeling products leverage a very large data
warehouse of donor-based transactional, philanthropic
and demographic data to inform marketing decisions for
our non-profit clients. As a research analyst you will
be studying, distilling, deconstructing and
interpreting the results of direct mail campaigns that
use these products. You will also be called upon to
answer general research questions about our data and
products. 

Duties:

-Analyze the performance of our two core modeling
products to assess the effectiveness of their direct
mail campaigns.

-Become a subject matter expert on the product line,
and then design, conduct, and manage research that
supports the models. 

-Develop conclusions and document support of findings
in an executive summary. 

-Manipulate data in order to examine performance of
our predictive models.

-Conduct Ad hoc analysis and general quantitative
research aimed at product improvement.

Requirements:

-2+ years of analytical experience.

-Solid communication and problem-solving skills, and
an ability to effectively prioritize and organize
multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

-Exposure to direct marketing including direct mail
campaign analysis.

-Self-motivation and drive to work effectively on
projects, and to understand “big picture” business
requirements. You must be able to take research
results and deliver key insights to internal clien 
ts.

-Attention to detail is critical.

-Working knowledge of relational databases. Target’s
data is stored in an Oracle database. Candidates
should be familiar with writing general queries,
joining very large tables, and writing small programs
to accomplish data transformation and gathering tasks.
 

-Exposure to direct response modeling is a plus.

-A bachelors degree is required.
