I am the hiring manager for an established software company located in
Kendall Square.  We currently have two positions available for Unix
Administrators.  We are interested in enthusiastic, hands-on candidates to
work in our ever changing, multi-platform environment.  We use all
Unix/Linux variants and are looking for enthusiastic learners who are
excited at the idea of learning them all.  Because we are a software
company, our users are technically minded and well-informed, which provides
a stimulating environment with constant challenges.  We are looking for a
mid-level admin, as well as a more senior one.

The requirements are:

* Minimum three years experience, including many installations and upgrades
of Linux and at least one other Unix variant.
* Extensive experience with installing software on Unix with
compiler/debugger installation experience desireable.
* Strong knowledge of sendmail/postfix, DNS/Bind, ftp servers, and
Apache/httpd.  Both operational and installation experience required.
* Knowledge of acquiring OS and compiler patches and the ability to
install/apply them.
* Experience with Active Directory/Windows a plus, as this position will
interact with the team maintaining our Windows infrastructure

Our basic requirement though is that you be smart, experienced,
enthusiastic, and self-driven.  We need people who get things done and love
what they do.
