Search Operations team is responsible for designing, deploying, monitoring, and

<span class=text2>On a day-to-day basis you will lead in the deployment of new
server types, develop and deploy improvements to the systems management
infrastructure, respond to help desk tickets opened by internal customers,
perform hardware and software troubleshooting, follow established routines and
procedures for diagnostics and repair, and escalate issues when necessary. You
will be responsible for the equipment at the heart of our search engine. </span><br>

<span class=text2>You will act as a member of the systems administration team.
Your mentoring and guidance will define how Ask.com tackles the systems
management challenges of the future. You are a natural talent when it comes to
Unix/Linux administration, and you have several years of experience working
with the Debian distribution(s) and administering a large-scale Unix

<span class=text2>Minimum Requirements: </span><br>
<span class=text2>• Knowledge of PC hardware </span><br>
<span class=text2>• Extensive knowledge of Unix </span><br>
<span class=text2>• Extensive knowledge of Linux kernel (specifically the
Debian Distributions) </span><br>
<span class=text2>• Thorough understanding of DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, NFS </span><br>
<span class=text2>• Understanding of automated OS installation systems
(e.g. FAI, Kickstart) </span><br>
<span class=text2>• Familiar with IP networking (layer 2&3 switching,
ARP, STP, OSFP, multicast) </span><br>

Nagios, Ganglia, etc </span><br>

(Perl, python, shell, awk) </span><br>
