[BBLISA] Closing of CBC

I agree it'd be nice to meet people IRL again.
I've changed careers and am considering changing back at some point, but it
seems like many of my favorite resources from back in the day - BBLISA,
Usenix LISA/;Login magazine - no longer exist.
What are people's replacements for these things?
Re: meeting, maybe with less frequency or in a speed talk or YouTube party
format (although I'd really prefer a quiet space, eg not a bar like CBC)?
I would be willing to be part of a group organizing such a thing, but don't
have bandwidth to do it all myself.
Also do people like the mailing list, or might perhaps something like
Discord be more useful these days?
Cheers,
-Danny
