No comment. But separately:
One thing worth mention - Basically any CPU can encrypt/decrypt much faster than a disk can transfer data. So you don't suffer any performance degradation as a result of encrypting the drive. (On a 2.3 or 2.4 Ghz i3 or i5, sustained maximum throughput on a single disk, consumes about 30-40% cpu of a single core.)
No matter what encryption product you use, assuming you use AES, it is highly worthwhile to get a CPU with the AES-NI instruction set. This accelerates AES instructions by about 10x so you literally can't even measure the 3-4% cpu utilization, mixed in with all the other "idle" cpu utilization.
