That page should make it clear that parking on the Tang Center lot is free 
for evening events, as evidenced by the official parking regulations at:

     http://web.mit.edu/facilities/transportation/parking/visitors/public_parking.html

Otherwise most suburban drivers assume there will a parking problem - it 
is Cambridge, so that isn't such a wild assumption.
