Noted, but I should have mentioned that "management" is strongly in favor
of using CentOS as the OS, as it will be used for the rest of the cluster.
I'd rather not have to become intimate with more than one new flavor of OS
as well (severe time constraints).
Related question:
My impression is that if I just use the system as is (Solaris) and later
convert to something else that supports ZFS/RAIDZ, I can migrate the ZFS
pool "in place". The version of ZFS in place now is not the latest Solaris
10 supports (zpool suggests "upgrading" it) and I've been told what's there
should be compatible with ZFS/FUSE. I don't have the details on versions
handy but I can dig them up if it's relevant.
