I'll 2nd Doug's comment and add that when I measured the under load
power consumption of one of our HP 380DLs (2xQuad Core, 32Gb, 2xSAS, 2x
whopping big power supplies) I found it drawing only around 200W.  I
concluded that a single measurement was better than 100 reasonable
guesses :-)

Right now my desktop (dual core, dual 7.2krpm drive, dual 21" CRT) is
drawing 400W.
