Try Bacula, www.bacula.org, and you can even do an 'apt-get' of the
tool, it's in Debian.  Pretty good software.  The nice thing is that
it can span backups across tapes, which Amanda (at my last look)
couldn't do. 

It's got it's quirks, and I don't like the reports and some of the
user interface, but it's been working quite nicely at home with a
single DLT tape drive.
