The group I'm in is looking for a toolsmith with a touch development
experience. The window of opportunity is VERY SHORT on this position.
The company is being purchased by IBM in about a week, so we have
*this week only* to fill this opening.
I realize that most people here are sys admins, so this job offer
won't be of interest to everyone. But just in case there is a
toolsmith lurking in our midst, I thought I'd see what I get.
You can find the position described here:
http://www.ascential.com/content/company/docs/Software%20Dev%20Eng%20JD%20-%20Dan%20Goessling.doc
Note, this description is not very good... and I'd know 'cause this
position is to off-load some of what I've been doing. It is not as
C++ heavy as this write-up implies but it isn't all toolsmithing, So
some C++ knowledge (or proof of ability to learn it) but a good
portion of it will be shell/perl/make and a broad range of Unix
experience is very helpful (our product runs on AIX, Solaris, HPUX,
Tru64, Mainframe/USS, NT w/ nutcracker.)
And just to come clean, there is money in this for me if we find
someone. So how about it? Contact me quick if this sounds
interesting!
