[BBLISA] Kind of moving to Boston

Hi all,

I know at least some of you on the list here, and for at least some this
won't come as a surprise, but I'm kind of moving to Boston on Sunday. My
wife is staying in Nashville, and I'll be working from there (Nashville)
at least one week a month. I might be doing a lot of travel initially, so
I might not actually be in Boston all that much at first.

Either way, I need to find a place to kind-of live. I figure it makes the
most sense to find a house looking for housemates. I'll be working in
Waltham, but I plan on trying to live without a car, so I'd like to live
somewhere slightly more central than Waltham -- I'm thinking something no
more than 3-5 miles from Waltham, preferably pretty directly East so that
it's close to just about everything.

I'm looking through craigslist, and there are tons of rooms available,
which means the trouble will be to narrow the list down, rather than a
paucity of choices.

So, any recommendations on where I should spend most of my searching
efforts? Am I incorrect for planning to live outside of Waltham? The
company is actually on the Western edge of Waltham, on the far side of
Prostect Hill (I think that's what it's called), if that matters.

Any ideas or inspirations? Adam recommended some towns to me, but it
seems like every room listed is in its own teeny little town, so I haven't
really even seen those specific town names -- there's much looking at maps
at this point, and even with maps I can't really do a good job of judging
neighborhoods or anything.

I'm vegetarian, and since I'll be a pseudo-bachelor, I expect that it'd be
good to have close restaurants.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Luke
