This person will need to learn the Omgeo current Linux environment to lead the strategy and execute against a plan that migrates support from Omgeo’s Technology organization into BIS. This multi-year (2-3) initiative will ultimately transition steady-state system administration and support delivery to the existing global support model/team. The focus of this strategy will be automation, compliance and consistency with existing BDS processes that exist for Windows support as appropriate. The person will partner with the Technology groups to understand their business requirements and make any changes in direction as seamless as possible. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:8.5pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:black'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:8.5pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:black'>This person will be responsible for leading evaluation efforts to identify technical solutions to meet the goals of the strategy including identifying external vendors. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:8.5pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:black'>The Manager, BIS Linux will hire, train and lead a team of technicians on various shifts in Boston and Manila providing global coverage across shifts as well as deliver hands-on administration and support him/herself. He/she will also cross-train Windows BDS staff on basic Linux troubleshooting to add depth to support coverage and vice versa.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:8.5pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:black'>Ability to learn quickly and build solid relationships with end user communities will be critical. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:8.5pt;font-family:"Verdana","sans-serif";color:black'>This position requires a logical and structured approach to troubleshooting, decision making and team emphasis with attention to superior customer service.
