a member of a team of network engineers and technicians who are responsible for
the global enterprise network, a heterogeneous network consisting of equipment
manufactured primarily by Adva, Foundry, Juniper and Nortel. Responsibilities
include day-to-day operational support: incident and problem response and
resolution, with rotating on-call responsibility; network utilization monitoring
and capacity planning; network performance monitoring; and periodic software and
hardware upgrades to network equipment. Responsibilities also include those
associated with networking projects: gathering of business requirements;
designing and documenting potential network solutions; developing and
documenting implementation plans; proposing and gaining approval for projects
and expenditures; and implementation of networking projects. Responsibilities of
the position include representing Networking on various cross-functional teams
and at particular inter-departmental meetings. Responsibilities may include
relations management of particular networking vendors and carriers.<BR><BR>This
position will be required to travel to locations in North America and less
frequently to locations on other continents. The candidate must be able and
willing to travel internationally for up to two weeks at a time. Generally,
travel requirements will total less than six weeks per

class=794534913-02062008><STRONG>Skills: </STRONG></SPAN>The successful
candidate will have strong competence with a majority of the networking
technologies and specific network devices currently deployed in our environment.
These technologies include 10 GbE, BGP, Checkpoint firewall, dark fiber, DWDM,
DS3, DSL, E1/T1, EAP, IPSEC, LAG, Netscreen firewall, OCx, OSPF, PoE, MPLS,
RADIUS, SSL VPN, STP, QoS, VoIP, VRRP and WLAN. These network devices include
equipment from the following manufacturers: Adva, Aruba, Foundry, Juniper and
Nortel. Experience with a Tier III, Iights-out data center environment is a
plus.<BR>The successful candidate must be able to perform at a high level in
both individual and team settings. Working to a schedule and meeting commitments
are essential. Project management skills are a plus. This position requires
strength in communicating with network users, business representatives, other IT
personnel, carriers and vendors. Strong writing skills are required;
presentation skills are a plus. This position requires adherence to a strict
