<br><font size=2 face="Times New Roman">The Network Computing Systems (NeCSys)
group at the MIT Media Laboratory is seeking to hire a highly talented
and motivated individual who will contribute to the design, operation,
and maintenance of the lab's complex network and computing environment.</font>
<br><font size=2 face="Times New Roman"> </font>
<br><font size=2 face="Times New Roman">The Media Lab uses a variety of
Linux, Unix, Windows and MacOS computers, and interoperability between
them is a critical requirement. Over 1000 computers and 300 users
are connected via our hybrid fiber optic, copper, and wireless network.
The successful candidate will be part of a team working in close
cooperation with individual users and research groups within the lab, supporting
daily research and administrative activities and/or working to improve
the advanced infrastructure on which the entire community relies. The
Media Lab provides an exciting, intellectually stimulating and informal
work environment, ideal for people who want to live and work at the cutting
edge of the Information Age. </font>

</b></font>
<br><font size=2 face="Times New Roman">The successful candidate(s) should
have a BS (or higher) in Engineering or Computer Science, and three to
five years of relevant experience. A combination of education and
experience will be considered. In addition the person must have sharp
programming/scripting skills, excellent problem solving and interpersonal
skills, be quick to learn, show initiative and flexibility, and work both
independently and as a team member. Evening and weekend work will
occasionally be required.</font>
