The Java developer will work closely with the rest of the team to replace Target’s legacy Oracle Forms and PL/SQL application with a new service-oriented architecture based on J2EE. The Java developer will be a seasoned professional with at least 3 years experience
building enterprise class systems in Java. The candidate should be familiar with Agile software development processes and must be capable of working in a dynamic, collaborative development team. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable working directly with clients on requirements gathering, design reviews, and QA. <br> <br> <b>Job Duties:</b> <ul> <li>Analyze and rebuild existing Team Approach business logic in Java.</li><li>Design and develop supporting subsystems and new functionality using Java, J2EE, XML, PL/SQL, and SQL.</li><li>Participate in collaborative work teams focused on UI development.</li><li>Provide training and support for other parts of the organization on the tools and functionality developed.</li><li>Work closely with the DBA team to ensure all new software is tuned and high-performance.</li><li>Act as a Java Evangelist within the organization and with key clients.</li> </ul> <br> <b>Requirements:</b> <ul> <li>At least 5 years
hands-on Java development experience with a strong focus on Enterprise class systems.</li><li>Experience using the following technologies (in addition to Java): J2EE, EJBs, XML, Hibernate, UML, Oracle, SQL and UNIX and Linux.</li><li>Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.</li><li>Ability to work directly with clients and helping them to optimize the business value of our solutions.</li><li>Results-oriented with strong analytical and strong problem-solving skills.</li><li>Excellent combination of technical and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Strong written and verbal skills required.</li><li>A Bachelors degree is required and any advanced degrees would be a strong plus.</li><li>At least 2 years of experience working in an Agile development environment would be a strong positive.</li><li>Experience with the following would be an asset: Apache Tomcat, SOAP, BC4J, PL/SQL, JSPs, Struts, Dynamic HTML and web-based development.</li><li>Experience in any of
these environements: Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris, Oracle 9i, 10g, Oracle Application Server, Windows XP client, would be a plus.</li> </ul> </div><p>
