What would I do at WaveGuide?

Part-time or consulting IT Manager:

Must Have:

System administration experience, for Mac OSX, Linux, and Windows

Management experience, leading projects and personnel to make strategic decisions and deliver strategic goals

TCP/IP networking, and firewall configuration

Virtualization

Bash scripting

Excellent documentation habits, ability to delegate responsibilities to others, habitual upkeep of documentation during daily activities

Willingness to consistently execute repetitive tasks (backup rotation, system updates, proactive maintenance of product and service expiration dates, and other habitual upkeep)

Desire to minimize the need for repetitive tasks, through automation and monitoring

Should Have:

System administration experience of Red Hat Enterprise RHEL/Centos, and Debian/Ubuntu Server

Amazon EC2 and other cloud management and automation experience

VMWare ESX/ESXi, and either Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, or Virtualbox

Cisco product usage and support - ideally ASA firewall

SSL/TLS certificate generation and installation

Directory and authentication - either Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, or similar

Configuration management - either ansible, puppet, chef, salt stack, or similar

NFS, iScsi, and CIFS/Samba

Additional programming and scripting languages - python, or similar

Version control - git, svn

Could Have:

Experience supporting an innovative, creative environment, with all its associated surprise high-tech needs

Experience in a lab environment, supporting lab equipment in access-restricted areas

Experience supporting EDA tools - Cadence, Mentor, Matlab, and similar

Snapshot and replication storage servers - Netapp, ZFS, isilon, or similar

FlexLM license management
