I run a boutique IT consulting firm with a diverse client base. The business is built on trusted referrals from the past 15 years and many of our clients have been with us nearly that long.

I am seeking an individual with free-lancing experience for part-time work (10-25 hrs/week) who is comfortable wearing a lot of hats within the realm of tech support – who blends interpersonal skills with an array of deep technology skills, experienced with Windows PCs, Macs, and Linux.

My staff works independently and provides their own transportation and equipment. Work is split evenly among on-site support, remote desktop, phone, and e-mail support. 

Requirements:

-- Computers started out as a hobby and a passion

-- Strong experience with Macs, PCs, handhelds, printers, networks, servers, and cloud services like Google Apps

-- Experience with automation solutions (command line scripts; macros; formulas)

-- Knows RFCs versus XKCD versus Slashdot versus Stackoverflow

-- Willing to help with all computer tech; has wise neutrality on tech culture and focused instead on productivity and customer comfort

-- Able to build a PC from parts and take one apart to replace a drive

-- Has a car, laptop, essential hardware repair kit to serve clients

-- Great discretion due to access to customer data

Exact amount of available work depends on range of skills and flexibility. Position will grow with company.
