The following is a full-time, permanent opportunity in the metro Boston area. 

Senior Systems Administrator – Linux/Unix 

$$$ - Commensurate with experience and ability. 

Challenging role for a solid, all-star Linux/Unix professional - senior Linux-based role in a high performance GRID environment! 

The key to this opportunity is to be able to deliver highly competent, day-to-day operational readiness for critical systems resources, crack trouble-shooting, problem analysis and resolution, strong process and procedural advocacy, and 2nd tier/3rd tier intervention and support. 

Required: a bachelor’s degree or high equivalent – 8-10 years of professional experience in the areas of systems administration and systems operations; expert-level skills in Linux, Unix (Sun Solaris + HP-UX) and Windows Server environments in an enterprise with at least 150+ servers; current experience in a high-availability, multi-site, multi-data center enterprise; strong VMWare deployment and administration in a robust ESX setting; hands-on experience with LDAP and AD; very strong TCP/IP, DNS w/ BIND; enterprise storage experience - Brocade SAN desired; and a solid understanding of the ITIL framework (V3 certs a huge plus) 

Responsibilities: deliver excellence in all areas of data center systems deliverables; build, deploy, administer and manage high-performance Linux systems for stand-alone and distributed domain functions; work on DR and continuity issues (design, re-design, delivery and admin); create procedures, processes and metrics to define and report on systems operations and deliverables
