Athenahealth, a rapidly growing web 2.0 software company is looking
for a Sr Systems Admin to work on project focused work on our
production systems team.

Overview
athenahealth is seeking an individual with expertise in architecting
and implementing large scale production systems. This person will be
responsible for providing architectural guidance on large, complex
solution development, system integration, and package based
implementation projects. This role includes providing guidance on the
the trade-offs between possible solutions as well as the ability to do
the work necessary to implement those solutions. This person must also
understand what it takes to maintain mission critical, customer facing
infrastructure.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Development of system platforms and tool sets to improve
infrastructure availability, manageability and scalability.
* Develop systems and processes to increase uptime and reduce risk
* Assist with the design and deployment of components of our next
generation of infrastructure
* Evaluation of systems, technologies and procedures. This includes
developing and implementing test plans.
* Support the definition and selection of enterprise tools,
technologies and hardware
* Works with other groups and within the team to build consensus
regarding new designs and processes
* Documenting concepts and designs and procedures for both Production
Systems and management
* Act as a mentor to team members

Qualifications
* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field / at least
ten (10) years progressive Systems Administration experience with a
minimum of four (4) years in Systems Engineering or Architecture.
* Experience with system architecture design concepts and techniques
* The ability to communicate and evangelize these concepts to a broad
based team.
* Extensive experience with:
* Linux/Unix systems
* OSS solutions
* Internet based, integrated application services
* Mission critical operations environment
* Experience in a company with locations in multiple geographies
* Strong track record of service orientation
* A history of success managing large, complex technology projects
