The Office of the University CIO and University Information Systems
are seeking a Unix Systems Administrator for a large-scale 7x24x365
Enterprise computing environment. This person will be an integral part
of the Network and Server Systems team in UIS. The candidates primary
function will be maintaining a largely Sun Solaris v. 9/10, handling
all aspects of support including the installation, upgrade and
maintenance both hardware and operating system. The successful
candidate will also act as a technical resource and advisor for other
members of the IT team, and for end users including business
application users and technical staff. Will participate in rotating
schedule for off-shift and weekend work and will be required to be
available for maintenance, and emergency situations.

Basic Requirements:

Candidates who will be considered for this position must have 5 years
of experience within a Sun Solaris environment, with a minimum of 1
year actively administering Solaris 10 environment as his/her primary
system.
Enterprise Storage Management skills are a must: both EMC (Symmetrix
and CLARiiON) as well as DAS devices including the Veritas disk
management toolset.
Candidate must have experience working with technical end-users such
as programmers, and performing end-user support.
Minimum education is a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or other
Bachelor degree with relevant job background.
