The University Systems Group (USG) provides enterprise-wide information 
technology services, including electronic mail, web, directory, 
identity, and other UNIX/Linux-based services, to the Tufts community. 
Its members support and enhance existing services and infrastructure 
and develop new solutions in support of the evolving technology needs 
of the University.

The Senior Project Manager will provide project management especially 
for the USG (but may include other groups) and includes the following 
functions:

    * Designs, develops, and maintains project schedules for project 
implementation.
    * Researches and creates interim milestones and defines 
inter-project dependencies.
    * Manages all activities for assigned projects, coordinating 
project resources and the requisite logical support for project tasks 
and sub-tasks.
    * Assigns and tracks internal and external action items to assure 
dates are met as planned.
    * Initiates and facilitates status meetings with project management 
team members and customers.
    * Additional responsibilities as assigned or requested.

To be successful in this position an individual will need to be 
organized and methodical as well as be able to communicate clearly and 
build good working relationships with co-workers in USG and in other 
groups and departments within and outside UIT. This position may be 
called upon to help lead projects across UIT.

Basic Requirements:

    * Bachelor´s degree
    * Over five (5) years of experience with UNIX (Solaris) and Linux
    * Programming experience in Perl

Preferred experience: Master´s degree. Previous experience managing 
operations and servers in a heterogeneous OS environment. Familiar with 
UNIX systems administration procedures. Previous experience managing a 
budget, providing leadership and training to more junior staff.
