As a UNIX Systems Administrator in our Centralized IT Operations department in Franklin, Ma., you will primarily be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and support of UNIX and Linux system hardware, operating systems and infrastructure.  

 

Specific responsibilities:



	- Perform operating system upgrades, capacity planning, and performance analysis as it relates to day-to-day operations. 

	- Troubleshoot OS and hardware level server issues as they arise. 

	- Support server environments in local data center and several regional distributed computer rooms across the U.S. 

	- Work with data center automation tools such as Opsware SAS and enterprise systems management tools such as CA Unicenter to support, monitor and optimize server environment. 

	- Work with vendors and in-house engineers to define operational standards to ensure solutions comply with configuration standards, best practices and audit guidelines. 

	- Handle provisioning in managing storage in an EMC DMX environment. 

	- Drive ongoing process improvement. 






Qualifications





	- 5+ years of experience deploying and managing SUN Solaris. 

	- 5+ years of experience deploying and managing Red Hat Linux. 

	- Experience performing server builds, migrations, upgrades and patching. 

	- Hands on experience in technical infrastructure operations. 

	- Experience working with Storage Area Networks; Experience in provisioning storage in an EMC DMX environment.  

	- Familiarity with system monitoring environment e.g. CA Unicenter and HP Insight Manager. 

	- Experience with Windows server administration helpful.  

	- VMware ESX and Citrix experience a plus. 

	- Ability to document solutions, policies and procedures. 

	- Experience working in large business critical production support environments. 

	- Strong commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction.
