Hi,
There is a Sr. Network Engineer position in Boston with a salary range of
a $90-100K W/$10-20K Bonus.
Here are some of the details of the position:
Fluent with Nokia and Checkpoint networking technologies with specific
knowledge of firewall concepts and concerns.
Skills:
- An understanding of Cisco network infrastructures.
- Must have good time management skills and be able to meet rigid
and urgent assignment schedules.
- Ability to evaluate and formulate threshold reporting metrics and
assist in capacity planning
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients,
management, vendors and service providers.
- Position also must possess strong infrastructure design skills -
Assist in creating and documenting policies and procedures -
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science preferred or equivalent relevant work
experience and/or hardware/software certification(s) in the following
areas:
o Technical, operational, and design experience with enterprise
networks, specifically high-end Cisco and Nokia/Checkpoint and F5
platforms
o Strong level of experience with Checkpoint NG AI series of
firewall software
o Strong experience with Nokia IP120/330/380 series of firewall
appliances (IPSO)
o CCSA or higher level of Checkpoint certification, or
corresponding experience level
o End-to-end network implementations and migrations, including
adequate sizing, host software and configuration, etc
o Some knowledge of Cisco 1600/1700/3600/3700/7200 series of routers
o Some experience with Cisco 2400/2900/3500/3700/4500/6500 series
of switches
o Familiarity with Cisco PIX 505/525/FWSM series of firewalls o
Cisco IOS CLI for router and switch management
o Enterprise networking technologies, including VLAN design and
management, 802.1x port authentication, STP, trunking, Etherchannel
configuration, HSRP/VRRP.
o WAN and MAN engineering, including DS1, DS3, OC12, multi-link,
etc o Microsoft MOM 2005 exposure
- Network administration skills in a Windows server environment,
including LAN, WAN, MAN, TCP/IP, etc
- Must be fluent use of Microsoft Office products including Word,
Outlook, Visio and Excel (preferably Office2003 suite).
- Base systems administration skills in the Windows 2000 and 2003
environments
- 40 Hour work-week
- Potential for weekend and night work on occasion and as normally
scheduled depending on business load and project timeline requirements. -
Office environment working with personal computer for potentially
long periods of time
- May be required to carry pager and be available "on-call" to
support unscheduled or urgent events outside of business hours.
- Occasional requirements for physical equipment movement and setup
- Must have load balancing experience and recent experience with F5
