We are conducting a search for a client in the Boston west suburbs; you will

We are seeking a dynamic team player to provide system build and administrative
support for Sun Solaris, AIX, Windows2000, and Redhat/Linux web-based
applications in our ASP environment.

Candidate should have solid troubleshooting skills, be a quick learner, and be
able to juggle and prioritize several tasks at once in a fast-paced
environment.

This position requires up to 25% domestic travel to our production data centers.

Responsibilities:

Support mission-critical production Unix, Windows, and Redhat/Linux systems;
perform routine system administration functions including: OS tuning,
performance monitoring, security monitoring, and system upgrades. The Senior
SysAdmin is responsible for the installation and implementation of all systems
in our remote data center.

Evaluate, recommend, and implement production enhancements including SAN and DR
environment solutions.

Work with application developers, systems engineering, and database
administrators to assure optimal performance of production systems.

Work with the data center networking and facilities group to resolve
network-related issues.

Responsible for the installation, configuration, and day-to-day operations of
the Veritas clustered systems, Web infrastructure for WebCash Management
platforms, including iPlanet, Websphere and IIS web servers, as well as the
full suite of products in the ASP environment.

Responsible for planning and implementing Security and security audits for all
production servers within the Data Center, and the installation and maintenance
of digital certificates for web servers and application servers using Verisign
and Entrust certificate authority.

Act as a mentor for more junior level system administrators, also has tier 2 and
3 responsibilities for Data Center systems and network problems, position also
has on-call duties. Provide tier-3 support for external customer support
issues.

Experience and Skills:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent
experience.

5 - 7 years experience in the following areas:
Solid Unix administration skills ? Sun Solaris, RedHat/Linux,
Solid Windows operating systems skills

Experience with the following is a plus:
Veritas Foundation suite
Veritas Clustering
Hitachi Storage Array experience
WindowsNT/Windows 2000 administration experience
Veritas NetBackup
Unix shell scripting
Host based replication
IBM Blade servers
IBM P-series servers (LPAR, Micropartitioning)
Experience installing hardware and operation systems.

Have a solid working knowledge of the following products:

iPlanet, Websphere, IIS, Apache Web server, Reverse Proxy, Oracle and DNS.

Also must have

Technical implementations, operations and troubleshooting experience of the
above list
Excellent writing, communication, and time management skills
Good customer service skills
