The UNet Systems Group provides enterprise mail, web, identity, and 
security services to the University community, as well as other UNIX and 
Linux-based services. The Converged Networks & Systems Operations Group 
has responsibility for MS Windows, data and voice telecommunications, 
and the operational aspects of ERP systems. As part of a small project 
team assisting both of these groups, the Senior Systems Programmer will 
lead the advancement and integration of enterprise systems. He/she will 
also further the development of feeds between the enterprise and LAN 
directories (currently OpenLDAP and Active Directory) and core business 
systems (primarily PeopleSoft SA and HR, but also campus card systems 
and a Cisco Voice over IP Telephony system); directory enabled 
middleware systems including authentication, authorization, and 
provisioning; and, investigate and advocate emerging technologies in the 
middleware space. Additional systems programming projects as assigned. 
Requirements for this position include: a bachelor's degree; 5-10 years 
of increasingly relevant experience; fundamental knowledge of LDAP and 
the ability to go from a business problem to code; and, strong 
communication skills. The programming languages currently used and 
likely to remain useful include Perl, PHP, Java, and Oracle PL/SQL.
