Inforonics is a leading provider of custom application support services,
including managed hosting and technical support. We have immediate
opportunities for technical support engineers providing tier 2 and 3
technical support to a variety of customers on a 24 x 7 basis. Throughout
troubleshooting, debugging and escalation processes, the ideal candidate
engineer will interact with end-users, managed services customers, product
development engineers, network operations engineers and other technical
support personnel. Individuals must demonstrate excellent technical
troubleshooting skills in a variety of technologies as well as excellent
communication skills that contribute to timely resolutions of complex
issues.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent
work experience.
- Possess a solid customer service and support background.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people
- Flexibility for work hours (days, nights, weekends, swing shifts,
may include holidays).
- Familiar with various Windows platforms: NT, 2000, XP, etc.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols and tools, e.g. DNS,
html, http, pop, smtp, ftp, telnet, ssh, ping, etc.
- Programming experience helpful (Perl/PHP/ASP/.NET/Cold Fusion)
- Database knowledge helpful (MySQL, MS SQL, MS Access)
- Unix/Linux experience very helpful.
Responsibilities to include:
- Respond to and fix system, application or server problems and issues.
- Provide telephone and e-mail technical support services.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot a variety of issues in multiple
environments and networks.
- Document issues and resolutions.
