Title: Unix Systems Administrator
Company: Putnam Investments
Location: Andover or Franklin MA

Looking for a mid-level Solaris/Linux System Administrator to join the
Server Operations team.  The candidate should have a strong OS/software
support background with 2-4  years of solid technical experience and should
be experienced in a fast-paced, high volume support role.  Financial
experience a plus.  Candidate should have experience working with some
combination of the following: Solaris, Red Hat Linux,  EMC, Veritas Volume
Manager, File System, Cluster, and NetBackup, as well as Online Disk Suite
and SunCluster.   Candidate should be familiar with Sybase or Oracle, and
the SunOne suite of products.  Candidate must have the ability to
communicate effectively.  Experience with Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 a
plus.  This position will require off hours pager duty and will require
off-shift work (some nights/weekends) to accomplish team objectives.

Specific duties associated with this opening include:  hardware/software
configuration of servers, configuration/implementation of the software
listed above.  Migration/consolidation of servers to new hardware and onto
a SAN.  Implementation of change controls during specified periods.
Trouble ticket management/closure.  OS/Application testing and
troubleshooting.  Server patch management/upgrades.

Title: AVP, Server Operations

Looking for a mid-level manager for the Unix Server Operations group.  The
candidate should have a strong technical background with a proven track
record managing a 6 to 12 person operations or engineering group.
Candidate should have excellent communication and project management
skills.  Candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced
environment with rapidly changing priorities.  Experience in an
out-sourcing and/or a financial environment a plus. This position will
require some off hours pager duty and will require occasional off-shift
work (nights/weekends) to accomplish team objectives.

Specific duties associated with this position include:  Staff development,
adherence to policy, procedure, and standards for quality, security, change
control, audit, and compliance.  Development and implementation of new
policies, procedures, and standards.  Overall project management for the
group's projects and deliverables.  Ability to organize and motivate
employees to achieve team goals.   Manage and develop relationships between
customers and operations group.
