Title: Solid State Disks

Presenter: Matt Simmons

Solid State Disks are a relatively new technology, but on the surface,
seem to function exactly like traditional hard drives, only faster. The
truth is that the underlying way they store and retrieve data are
completely different - and understanding how and why can make the
difference in making sure that your disks last much longer and maintain
their performance. 

This talk is an adaptation of a tutorial presented at LOPSA-East 2013.
Because of time constraints, we'll be sticking to the most relevant and
interesting parts, and you will still be able to walk away with a much
better understanding of how to use SSDs in your environment, and make
well-informed purchasing choices. 

Matt Simmons is a 13+ year system administrator, blogger, and community
organizer. He's currently serving on the Board of Directors of LOPSA,
